ALTERNATIVE NGK PLUGS FOR FORD ZETEC ENGINE

NGK is introducing on the replacement parts market a new resistor spark plug, the TR6B-13 as an alternative to the PTR5A-13, which is imported from Japan. Made in Brazil and designed for Escort sedans, hatchbacks, and station wagons equipped with Zetec 1.8L 16Valve engine, and Fiestas and Couriers with the 1.4/16V engine, this new spark plug has lateral electrodes in nickel alloy to attend the engineÕs specific needs, not as conventional spark plugs.

The domestic-made NGK TR6B-13 also can be used in Ford Mondeos GLX/CLX with the Zetec 1.8/16V and 2.0/16V engines, imported from Europe. The cost-benefit relationship of using parts produced in Brazil is a big advantage to car owners. The new spark plugs can be found in renowned auto parts stores and in NGK distributors around Brazil.

The life of a spark plug depends on the proper maintenance of the engine and fuel quality. NGK recommends checking a vehicle's spark plugs every 10,000 km, and replacing them when necessary.

NGK also makes the TR6B-10 spark plug only for Zetec Rocam 1.0 and 1.6 engines, which are used in the Fiesta, Ka, and Courier models built after 1999.
