MOTORCYCLES: NGK RECOMMENDS REGULARLY CHANGING SPARK PLUGS AND CHECKING TERMINALS

The perfect operation of motorcycles and scooters depends on spark plugs that are in good condition. This is a basic requirement for adequate combustion and good performance and fuel economy. NGK recommends changing spark plugs every 3,000 km or in accordance with the owner's manual.

Two-wheeled vehicles made in Brazil use NGK spark plugs as original equipment. These products are available on the replacement parts market as well, including others for older models and many imports.

A spark plug that has expended its useful life may greatly increase fuel consumption though go unnoticed and cause ignition failures that seriously decrease power. Since the majority of motorcycles have one cylinder, the risk of seizure is even greater.

When changing the spark plug, you should also examine the terminal suppressor to ensure that no current is being lost. Visual inspection may be sufficient, but consumers should always be mindful of the NGK brand, because cheaper and less reliable parts exist on the market. These cheaper parts compromise the proper operation of the spark plug and your motorcycle.
